About us

CZ Biom advocates for the development of biomass, biogas and biomethane as sustainable and flexible energy sources in the Czech Republic. We are also interested in the circularity of material flows, as well as in dealing with bio-waste, composting and the return of nutrients from composts, digestates and ashes to the soil. We bring together a large number of specialists, entrepreneurs and stakeholders in the field of biomass utilisation.

What we do

We promote better conditions for the sustainable development of biomass, biogas and biomethane so that these industries contribute to reducing CO2 emissions and protecting nature and soil.

We advocate for a higher proportion of bio-waste treatment and the return of nutrients from this waste back into the soil.

Together with scientists and experts from research institutes, universities and companies, we prepare expert studies, reports, strategies and analyses.

We organize seminars and conferences in cooperation with major Czech and foreign institutions.

We participate in scientific and research projects that bring new insights into modern energy and a thriving economy.

We publish the latest information on biomass, biogas, bio-waste and composting on the widely visited biom.cz portal and in the printed magazine BIOM.

Benefits of the membership

The Czech Biomass Association monitor the market and legislation in the areas of biomass, biogas, biomethane, bio-waste and composting. We communicate with the Czech administration.


  1. We facilitate the exchange of experiences and opinions, transfer information from similarly focused companies with opportunities to establish contact with potential customers or business partners.
  2. We discuss practical interests of our members with government and regulatory authorities.
  3. As a member, you have the opportunity to participate in the activities and management of the section, as well as in the activities and management of the entire CZ Biom Association.
  4. We help our members with promotion and media publications.
  5. Our team will help you with analyses, assessments and studies or with the assessment of your projects or business plans in the field of bioenergy, composting and bio-waste.
  1. We provide legal support in problematic situations.
  2. We prepare our members for negotiations with the Czech state administration or controlling authorities.
  3. We offer biogas plant operators and owners the possibility of a "mock inspection" (checking the documentation of the biogas plant operation and related reporting).
  4. We keep our members informed through newsletters on developments of the issues discussed in the areas of biomass, biogas, biomethane, bio-waste and composting.
  5. We collaborate in holding seminars, excursions or conferences.
